Day twenty-four was my husband and I’s 8th wedding anniversary. We have been together since I was 14 and he was 15, the quintessential high school sweethearts. It wil be a total of 16 years in April. We have had our ups and downs; car accidents, near death experiences, births, deaths, 6 months in Army basic training and AIT, a year in Iraq, being broke, having money, happy times and times of depression. Through it all we have seemed to evolve differently and the same somehow. Neither one of us are the same people we were even a few years ago and yet we seem to be stronger than ever. Day twenty-four is us, after the kids went to bed, Jeremy not-so-fresh from a nap, with champagne in our hands in the same glasses we toasted to on our wedding day. We still look young and we definitely look happy. I hope we can have the same picture when we are old, wrinkly and still be smiling.

“For you see, each day I love you more
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.”
