These two photos were taken on New Year’s Eve. 284 is after getting ready to go out, the anticipation of the New Year and it’s evening festivities, all the potential of the night and coming year. 285 was while out and about in the city for the New Year, realizing that the night was not going to be as fantastic as previously hoped, the let down of an evening gone wrong and hoping it wasn’t a reflection of the coming year. I think the second quote sums up this blog nicely.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.”
~T.S. Eliot, “Little Gidding”

“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.” ~Bill Vaughan
