My husband took a class at the Killeen Civic Art Guild about how to do spray paint art and was given this respirator. A couple of weekends later we set up all the materials outside and he taught me what he learned. It was so fun. My husband is a musician and not really an artist, so for him to get into making art just makes me giddy. It was great to create something together. This isn’t the greatest photo, but I think it’s fun.

This is one of the spray paint art pieces we did together that day.

I was at the Killeen Civic Art Guild on a Saturday working on my ceiling tile. We are painting them for the local VA hospital.  I set my camera on the table and set the self timer. After about the 5th time everyone was wondering what the beeping was, haha. I love this shot. I love to create art and this captures that love. I also love going to the art guild, having a place to create art and a group of other creative people to be around.

I had this idea a few years back to create animals paintings for the kids in my family based on the idea that if they were an animal what would they be. I did a bunny for my niece, a hawk for my nephew and this is for my son, the fox.  What animal would you be? I would be an owl. Now I have a daughter. Right now I think she would be a cute, chunky little baby bird. She might be different as she gets older, but that might be the painting she gets. I have a new niece just born today, about an hour ago! Who knows what she will be.

This was my second session of painting. It is coming along nicely. I’m doing it in oils, which I love, but don’t have as much experience in as acrylic or watercolor. I enjoy this photo almost as much as I enjoy my painting. Hoping to get back to is soon. I want to finish it, I have a million other ideas to start!

Day fifty-nine I was working on some photo magnets, which you can see in the background. They are a relatively easy craft using flat glass marbles, photos, drawings, magazine cutouts, whatever and small button magnets. I use my own photos and art. I have 10 years of film prints stacked up in my art cabinet and this is a great way to reuse them for something creative. Here is my hand cutting out a circle of an image. I enjoy making these. They look pretty cool when they are complete. See below for a photo of completed magnets.
